Mesh Sketch option in Rapidform XOR

Mesh Sketch command allows you to extract polyline of section or silhouette from Mesh or Point Cloud data and create 2D geometries such as line, circle, rectangle and so on based on created section or silhouette. You can extract design intent and redesign it.

Segment Section Polyline

The extracted polyline is constructed with many segments so it is necessary to reduce it on your demand.

l Resolution – It determine the resolution of polyline. The more move to the left, the fewer segments are created.

1114

l Max. Arc Radius – When you create arc by fitting, less than given value’s segment can be recognized as an arc.

Entity Fitting

image47_1117

When you create 2D geometries by fitting polyline, you can filter polyline.

l Sampling – The fitting will be done using fitting data sampled according to the specified value.

l Remove – If you select N*Sigma, you need to input N value into the box on the right. The fitting will be done by excluding fitting data whose error is bigger than N times of the standard deviation. If you select Ratio, you need to input a ratio value into the box on the right. The fitting begins with sorting the fitting data according to the error. Then only the data fall into the ratio will be used in the fitting. If you select Absolute Distance, you need to input a distance value into the box on the right. The fitting will be done by excluding the fitting data outside of this distance.

Disjoined Points Constraint

You can set tangent connection or connect disjoined lines.

l Angle – If tangent angle, between arc and arc or arc and line, is less than this value, these curve or arc will be connected with tangent. Set value and click Enter button on the keyboard. This command applies for working sketch or selected entities.

1119

l Max. Dist. – Less than given distance’s gap will be joined. Set value and click Enter button on the keyboard. This command applies for whole sketch or selected entities.

1120

l Intersection – Less than given distance’s intersection will be removed. Set value and click Enter button on the keyboard. This command applies for whole sketch or selected entities.

Options in Detail

image47_1130

l Planar Method – You can extract section polyline(s) from selected plane and decide position by moving it along normal of plane. You need to select a reference plane or face for Base Plane.

image47_1131

l Rotational Method – You can extract section polyline(s) from selected plane and decide position by rotating it along selected vector. You need to select a reference plane or face for Base Plane and a reference vector or edge for Central Axis.

Draft Angle: You can set Draft On/Off. Adds draft to the feature. Set the Draft Angle. Select Draft outward if necessary.

  • Exclude Round Conver: If checked, you can remove round polyline which is less than specified value. This option can be used when you want to create sketch without fillet and apply the Auto Sketch command.

1138

  • Limit To Regions: If checked, you can select regions and you can only get the section polylines from selected region.
