|The area selection method of selecting entities selects multiple nested shapes with a single mouse click.
Instead of drawing a box around the entities to be selected (as in the Window method), area selection selects closed boundaries around the point where you click the mouse.
To select all of the shapes or chains within a closed boundary, choose Settings, Configuration, to open the System Configuration dialog box. Then click Chaining to open the Chaining properties page and check the Infinite nesting in area chaining checkbox.
To use the area selection method, hold down the Shift key and click inside the outermost entity, but outside the inside entities. You can also choose Area from the Selection Methods on the General Selection ribbon bar and click inside the outermost entity, but outside the inside entities.
Note: Make sure that your cursor is not close enough to an entity to highlight it before you click.
