How to control the spline line of Edge Flange in SolidWorks’ Sheet Metal

It’s unnecessary to create perpendicular when using “Edge Flange”, it is created to any shape which we want. Today, I will instruct how to control Spline edge of “Edge Flange.

Step 1: First, create a Sheet detail as following image

Step 2: choose “Edge Flange” and select a random edge to add

Obviously, after implement as above step, click “OK” it will create the perpendicular edge. If we need another spline line (not perpendicular one), how do we do? Next step is using “Cut” isn’t it? No, it isn’t. To be simpler, we do next step.

Step 3: Click “Edit Flange Profile” and implement as showing in the image

Next, we have interface as in the following image:

Next, we edit the sketch again as creating the common sketch. For example, I edit spline as in the following image

Click “finish” in Profile Sketch dialog box to finish, in case of having many edges, click “Back” to return, selecting next edge and implement similarly as above steps, and click “Finish”, we have.
